Trama

Group project at Politecnico di Milano

Trama is a chair whose structure is made of wooden slats intertwined by leather straps. This type of bendable surface works for many different objects and was originally designed to allow the design of a family of products.

“Trama” means “Weft” in italian. The weft between wood and leather allows the user to easily disassemble the chair which will take up less space when rolled up.

The brief was to design a wooden object for the outdoors. We settled on the idea to use cylindrical wooden slats and this chair is what resulted from it.

This project was carried out in a team of 4 people and was commited for a competition organised by Assolombarda.
